The demolition of Seth Boyden Court was financed, in part, by the city through a $4 million loan to the Newark Housing Authority (NHA). The cost of the demolition totaled $5.2 million, NHA Executive Director Victor Cirilo told TAPinto Newark.
The beginning of the Dayton Street revitalization project comes as the city continues to develop its 10-year master plan, which outlines land use for new development in the community. City officials aim to address a number of topics in the master plan, including affordable housing, jobs and economic development, transportation, parks and open space, the environment, infrastructure, and more.
