Perdomo Adds Ultra-High Reach Excavator to Enhance Large-Scale Demolition Efficiency
Perdomo has announced the acquisition of a new Hitachi ZX890LC, an ultra-high reach demolition excavator capable of reaching nearly 170 feet. The addition significantly strengthens Perdomo’s ability to execute controlled high-reach demolition on large industrial structures, multi-story facilities, and complex vertical environments.
Manufactured by Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas as part of the ZAXIS-6 series, the machine is engineered to enhance performance, operational efficiency, and operator control. For demolition operations, these improvements translate directly into faster structural takedowns, reduced reliance on supplemental equipment, and improved precision when working at height.
The nearly 170-foot reach allows Perdomo to perform top-down demolition with greater control and fewer mobilizations, reducing project timelines while maintaining strict safety standards. The increased reach also expands the company’s ability to handle taller structures without the need for extensive pre-demolition structural modifications or specialized access systems.
